De vreugde was immens, maar werd amper drie weken later volkomen overschaduwd door de scheepsramp met de Estonia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nicomokveld.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Estonia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-18870\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nicomokveld.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Estonia-225x149.jpg\" alt=\"Estonia\" width=\"225\" height=\"149\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nicomokveld.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Estonia-225x149.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.nicomokveld.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Estonia-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.nicomokveld.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Estonia-560x373.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.nicomokveld.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Estonia-320x213.jpg 320w, https:\/\/www.nicomokveld.nl\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Estonia.jpg 1366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>Wat de MH17 is voor Nederland, is de dramatisch verlopen overtocht met deze veerboot van Tallin naar Stockholm voor de Esten.<br \/>\nNet buiten het oude stadscentrum staat het monument ter nagedachtenis aan de 852 slachtoffers.<\/p>\n<p>Ik kon niet anders dan er aan terugdenken omdat ik vannacht dezelfde oversteek maakte en ook deze zeevaart &#8211; net als destijds met de Estonia &#8211; begon met een stevige vertraging.
