Een mooie vindplaats zijn de Late Night Tales. De Britse CD- en vinylserie wordt door kenners als de &#8216;Rolls-Royce onder de compilatie-albums&#8217; omschreven. Het idee is simpel: laat een musicus een album samenstellen met relaxfavorieten; te draaien ver na middernacht als het feestje voorbij is.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De reeks bestaat inmiddels uit dertig delen. Persoonlijk draai ik de mix van Groove Armada nog altijd met veel plezier en de sfeerrijke bijdrage van \u00d3lafur Arnalds behoort ook tot m\u2032n favorieten.<br \/>\nDe prijs voor de meest eigenzinnige compilatie gaat naar de Deense Agnes Obel en haar mix is een rijke bron voor weer nieuwe ontdekkingen. De belangrijkste: Michelle <em>never-heard-of<\/em> Gurevich. Op allmusic.com wordt deze Canadese van Russische immigranten slechts \u00e9\u00e9n keer genoemd en dat is slechts in verband met het feit dat Agnes Obel het prachtige Party Girl van Gurevich heeft verwerkt in haar Late Night Tales-mix. Gurevich originally wanted to become a filmmaker and worked ten years in the industry before turning to music. Her music has been described as slowcore rock and &#8220;lo-fi pop&#8221;.
