De Amerikaan richtte samen met zijn broers The Beach Boys op. De groep brak in de jaren 60 door en scoorde hits als\u00a0&#8216;Surfin\u2019 USA&#8217;,\u00a0&#8216;I get around&#8217; en\u00a0&#8216;California Girls&#8217;. Brian Wilson gold daarbij als het artistieke brein, hij schreef de meeste songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rivaliteit met The Beatles<\/strong><br>Midden jaren zestig was er een vriendelijke rivaliteit tussen The Beach Boys en The Beatles. Toen het Engelse viertal in 1965\u00a0<em>Rubber Soul\u00a0<\/em>uitbrachten, componeerde Wilson het album\u00a0<em>Pet Sounds<\/em> (1966), met talloze meesterwerken daarop zoals\u00a0<em>Wouldn\u2019t it Be Nice<\/em>\u00a0en\u00a0<em>Sloop John B<\/em>.
