Aanvankelijk alleen als ik op zoek was naar feitelijke informatie, maar toen ik onlangs wilde weten waarom het album &#8216;In The Blue Light&#8217; zo weinig wordt genoemd als een hoogtepunt uit het oeuvre van Paul Simon kwam CoPilot met een verrassend inhoudelijk antwoord. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Een paar dingen spelen mee:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Het is een herinterpretatie-album. Veel mensen verwachten nieuw materiaal, terwijl Simon hier juist oud werk opnieuw vormgeeft. Dat trekt automatisch een kleiner publiek.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>De arrangementen zijn verfijnd, bijna kamermuziek. Voor luisteraars die houden van zijn meer verhalende of ritmische werk voelt dit album minder \u201ctypisch Paul Simon\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Het is een laatcarri\u00e8replaat. Veel fans haakten na Graceland of Rhythm of the Saints af en volgen zijn latere werk minder intensief.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>De instrumentatie, de gastmuzikanten, de nieuwe invalshoeken op oude nummers \u2014 het is muziek die langzaam groeit bij herbeluistering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"epyt-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  id=\"_ytid_10442\"  width=\"629\" height=\"354\"  data-origwidth=\"629\" data-origheight=\"354\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Wu2f5LHnVKk?enablejsapi=1&#038;autoplay=0&#038;cc_load_policy=0&#038;cc_lang_pref=&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;loop=0&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;playsinline=0&#038;autohide=2&#038;theme=dark&#038;color=red&#038;controls=1&#038;disablekb=0&#038;\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  epyt-is-override  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>AI-chatbot CoPilot vervolgt: \u201cEr is een kleine maar enthousiaste groep luisteraars die dit album juist ziet als een van zijn meest volwassen, coherente werken. Alleen\u2026 die groep is niet zo luid aanwezig online. \u2018In The Blue Light\u2019 is zo\u2019n album dat n\u00edet veel lawaai maakt, een plaat die meer fluistert dan schreeuwt, en dat soort werk krijgt zelden de grootste aandacht in commentsecties\u201d, aldus het volledig geautomatiseerde antwoord op mijn vraag.
